My ucles has handle/lever that you have to turn to drop the marker on the left or right side when you lower the planter. When the 3 point hitch lifts the planter the markers come up automaticly & lock in place until you hit the lever again. You can plant in 5th gear with his 520 when the land is right. I like those planters.

John: If it hasn't been altered since new I can. That outside frame that press wheel axle fastens to and has a roller at front. That frame on each side is supposed to pivot at about 1/3 of the way back. As you lift the planter those rollers force markers up. On many of these planters that pivot is seized from fertilizer. The lever for markers at center is designed to latch the marker you don't want going down when you lower the planter. I hope this helps, if not come back and I'll try another approach.
