I may buy a NH 273 baler with thrower, but wonder if I can somehow bypass the thrower so the bales just fall on ground - but not go flying 20 feet. I have some small fields where I can't use the wagon, and after the one wagon is full from the big fields it would be nice to field drop the bales in some other areas. Can this be done?? I never used a thrower. Thanks

I saw an article in farm show a few years back about a guy who some how made his thrower slide out of the way to use a quarter turn chute on the same baler.

hi, yes you can. take the drive belt for the thrower off the pulley on the balance wheel( flywheel on the thrower). Don't worry about the bale belts being too tight as they are spring loaded. I have a super 69 Iv'e done this with. Good Luck! joe...

Cannot do that with a belt thrower, but if you switch colors..... ..you can simply lockout the pan thrower on a John Deere baler. Bales just slide through onto the ground.
