adding shovels or chisels to a disk??

I have an eight foot disk with two gangs up front and in back. Has anyone added shovels or chisels in front of the front disks?...if so how would I go about doing that...I assume some channel steel would have to be added on the diskframe. By the way it's an older JD disk.

Does not sound like a good idea.

Disk will be ripped up, frame can't take it.

Blades will cake/plug up with wet ground, you need several hours between chiseling & disking to let the lumps dry down.

Guess you could hook the disk behind a tool bar? Without a good stout main frame to hold the shanks or chisels will just tear your disk up. Disk chisels and new plows.

Super, My cousin has a 12 ft wide rig just about like that one + a crumbler too, but theirs is another make.....Anyway He has a 300+ Hp Stieger, with radial tires dualed out on all 4 corners, when that thing is stabbed into the ground at near max depth it will give that tractor all it wants! but as tha Krause info says it is ment to be a 1 pass operation, cut cost, open the soil up for fall & winter moisture, so in the spring all one has to do is a light finish disking and away you go planting. OBTW--His soils are Okla Panhandle Sandy-Clay soils.
