Went to swap shares from one old 2 bottom 14" to the other, better one, and they are different...!!

The ones I have been using are getting pretty thin...can I find a set, or is it better to try and get these sharpened and built-up..?

The reason the other set won't fit is that the Draw-bolt pin is in a wider position... I would change Frogs, but the bolt pattern in the mouldboards is different..!! Any suggestions..?? Thanks..! Ron. In Ohio...

I have a 3 bottom JD plow with Syracuse bottoms (don't know if yours are the same) but I finally swapped out the whole thing for Model 314 bottoms. Now I can go to Tractor Supply and buy bolt on plow points anytime. Cost for 3 is less than one of the old type and don't break as easy.

Take you old shares to your JD dealer. Real replacements are expensive (~$100 ea.), but the JD throw aways are fairly cheap.

I got new 16 inch shares for a model 44H from Deere, if I remember correctly, in late 2005. But as "fumble farmer" said "not cheap".
