disc harrow tire

My disc harrow has one tire that needs replaced but it is a 8.55-14 and i need to know the closest car/truck tire size to that so i can get a good used one to put on.

You need to go with both wheels in a 15". With 2 different size tires if you have the wheels on the ground for depth control with different sizes on each side, even if only a quarter inch different in height it will cause one side to dig deaper than the other and will make it want to pull to the side with the largest tire because that side will not be cutting as deep, and the 15" is easier to find a pair of than the 14"

You can probably get a good used radial tire
215R14 is the metric size for the 8.55-14. Hal

Like Rusty said it probably doesn't matter much but if you have to transport it very far for peace of mind may want to replace both tires. 14" is hard to find in our area in a good used tires because everyone keeps them bought up for spares for their hay trailers converted from old cotton trailers. Many of the radials in 14" are way too small and won't carry much load or last long so waste of money if used probably. If you need to carry much load down the road invest in some new 9.5-14 implement tires or a 6 ply 14" trailer tire and those will probably outlast you and the disk.

it is a AC harrow, one side has 14" and the other has 15" wheel on it, i was just trying to find the eqivulent size tire to the 8.55-14 so if a 195-215 will work i'll look around for one of those, thanks for the help

Your disk doesn't care what tire is on it. I would guess that the 8.55 is way oversized anyhow. You could probably get by with a radial tire such as a 195 or 215 or similar. Your disk, when new, was delivered to the dealer without tires. The dealer then bought whatever used tires he could find at a cheap price and put them on, as long as the two tires were of a similar size, it didn't matter. Likewise, when those first tires failed, they were replaced with whatever the farmer could find that would get him up and running again.
