I"ve got a 2 rotor Walton that"s getting a few years on it and the neighbor keeps it more than I do. I need some help on my taxes and am looking at some new ones. Am I better off to go with a another Walton(about $1450) or another cheap brand or should I look at a little better one, maybe a Vermeer or Heston or something. Any thoughts?? At least if I seel my old to my neighbor I won"t have to borrow my own tedder anymore...

The Hesston is a EnoRossi and is lighter duty that the Walton/Galfre'. The Vermeer is made by Tonutti with a heavier hitch than the standard Tonutti. The Vermeer is geared a little different than the Tonutti. All in all in a 2 rotor tedders If it's a 2 rotor tedder you want you might look for a used one. We have good used 2 bangers traded in all the time and the typically sell in the $500-800 range.

Krone is the top of the line as far as tedders go. Do yourself a favor and get a four rotor of which ever brand you choose.

Most of the tedders are rebadged something else. I know my New Idea, and the comparable Hesston is a retreaded Tonutti. Pick one you like, with good local parts support. It seems they live a hard life, I know mine does.

I am on the second Kuhn. Bought the first one about 20 years ago used. Sold it to a neighbor who is still using it. I think they are one of the best. They build the John Deere tedders I think.
