I just got hold of an old burch disk. Did they make a disk that had no ball bearing in the disk bearing look like its metal to metal. i seen wood box bearing but not metal to metal.. just wondering if i could put ball bearing in it. thanks for the help

We had one with the white iron bearings, that is the metal to metal type, most makers used them before the ball-roller bearings came into use and as option for years after, and I dought you could change one over, you would have to not only find a bearing but a different spool to fit the new bearing plus a new bearing hanger. Those bearings I have never heard of one wearing out, They do like to squeel-howel even if kept full of grease

CRS is actin up this mornin so i cant recall proper name for that metal to metal bearing but theyre pretty common on disks...last a loooonnnnnggggg time if ya keep em greased and most any tractor supply will have replacement parts
