I need to replace the PTO yoke that slides onto the splined shaft on a Danuser F8.

The shaft has 20 splines (one is machined away, so really there are 19). The minor diameter of the splined shaft is 1 5/8".

I know about the danuser retrofit option for $266, but I wonder if there is a boneyard out there somewhere that might have this part?

Thanks
LK

for those of us who don't know what this part goes on you should tell us if its for a tractor, truck, etc. my ford tractor dealer in huntsville al carries a big selection of u joints to where you can find some thing to make work on anything you carry in. worse case - have a machine shop cut the piece in half and a new one with the right yoke end on it and then weld the two halves back together. it shouldn't be much more trouble than building a new drive shaft for a car or truck.

The splined end of this yoke attaches to the input shaft of a Danuser F8 post hole auger.

It has occurred to me that perhaps the ears could be cut off and weld on some new ones. Or, as you say, piece one together out of two.

I guess the real question is where there is an implement boneyard. Danuser diggers are everywhere. This style is only present on a certain era- they are on their 3rd pto manufacturer, according to mr. Danuser. This one was made by Rockwell apparently. Now they use weasler, which does not fit.
