Does anybody out there have any info on the tonutti line of disc mowers. Locally they are going to auction a 7 foot. Are they any good. What would one in good condition be worth? Where can one get the parts? Thanks

farmallbee,

I don't have a Tonutti disc mower (I'm still using an old Ford 501 sickle bar mower) but I have a Tonutti tedder. I needed some new teeth for it last summer. I called S&T in Memphis and they were very helpful. They have an extensive inventory of Tonutti parts and their prices on the tedder teeth were reasonable.

Good luck.

Usually a 7' disc mower in a consignment auction will be $1,000- 2,000. On a dealers lot likely $2000-3000. Tonutti does not sell many disc mowers but there are 8 Tonutti distributors in the USA. Tonutti has a warehouse in Memphis,TN listed S&T Distributing.

You are just the guy I hoped would answer-you know your business and are a great asset to this board. The one I looked at is DP 210. Are the shaft or gear driven. What should I look for in a used model. This one is actually a repossed model. I assume on 50 acres of hay a year it would be okay-I keep everthing maintained well and am gentle with my equipment.
Thanks
again for the info

At an auction something is worth what someone wants to pay. I'd say that the mower is worth $2,500-3,500 on a dealers lot. If I were at the auction I'd stop bidding at $2,000. A full service dealer may have to put $500 worth of repairs & parts in the mower. Another name brand like the NH economy disc mower made by Sitrex but with the NH name on it would be worth $1,000 more. That NH economy series disc mower is basically the same mower as the Tonutti. Both have Comer oil-bath cutterbars.
