Thinking about going to no-till on my corn only raise 20 acres and it is for rotation of hay fields. Been getting neighbor to plant in past but now he's selling out and his planter is a 12 row. Is there 2-4 row older no-till planters out there and do they do good job?

Gwet an IH 800 planter. They will plant without special attachments in places the others won,t even with all the fancy attachments. Simpler and less maintenance too.

Around here you can buy a 4 row JD 7000 for around $1,000 and an IH 800 for about half that. I think four row planters have actually increased in price around here over the past few years because everybody wants them for planting food plots, on consignment sales sometimes a 4 row planter will bring more than a 6 row of the same model in the same condition.

Don't know where you are located but here in Iowa you can buy a used JD 7000 planter cheap.

They do a good job on notill if it is set up for it.
