neighbor lady husband died bout 4 years ago...she had been selling his hay stuff,rake baler,mower,so i asked her about the tiller,she said $500 maybe a little less.. i told her i would take a look when the weather broke...i know it is at least 15 years old...he did his garden and maybe 4-5 others each year. how much slopp is acceptable,, i thought i would hook to my tractor and try it...i think it is bout 6-footer.

You have to see it & know the brand to come up with a good price. 500 might not be that bad, have you seen the price of new ones????

that price seems high to me. is it a chain drive or gear driven? are the skids worn down to nothing? you can fix that yourself by just welding on new skids from a flat piece of stock steel. how bad are the tines worn? if the aren't about the same thickness over the hold width i'd say they may need replacing to work real good. you can get by with them unless the are worn down to a point. does it have any bad oil leaks? are the u joints tight? what brand name is it? think you can get parts for it if needed?
