Hi, can anyone ID this mower? It's an IH, 7 foot cut, and I think it was originally designed for use with a farmall F12. Anyway, what I'm told is that it was converted at some point to be mounted on an MD. In the picture I've got it on a super C, which is about the same hookup as the MD, just different axle clamps. The number M-2472 is cast into one of the covers on the gearbox. The control lever on the far right is an adjustment to tip the sickle bar forward and back. Farther ahead are 2 more levers, one which lifts the blade, and the other doesn't seem to do much of anything. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
thanks, Nathan

Sure looks like the Model 12 by my book.

Came out for the f12 tractor.

I think its a model 12 - they were designed for F12/F14 tractors. I have one just like it only mine is a 5 ft cut. They could be changed to 7ft. I think someone on one of these sites a week or two ago found someone had a manual for it - maybe Binder books.

That most definitely is a#12 mower designed for the F-12, F-14. And yes, a few weeks ago I was on here asking for info on this mower. I got a copy of the manual from Binder Books. The two levers you mention. One is a foot assist to help lift the mower off of the ground. There is a chain linking it to the manual lever. That way you can use both your foot and hand to help getting the mower high enough to lock it up for transporting. The manual lever at the bottom has an indent or tooth for this purpose. Hope this answers your question. I don't remember how many acres I cut using this very same mower as a kid on the farm.
