Had one mounted on a 630. It was a sweet outfit.

Not if you want to keep any axles in the tractor, now if you are fond of jacking up the tractor with picker on it with wheel laying on ground and changing axles then go for it. The 226 picker was a lot lighter in weight and was still to much weight on those small axles and the B with that 226 picker with anti freeze in would have so much of a cloud of blue that you could not see thru it. The 227 picker followed and Deere did not make any mounting brackets for a B because it was too heavy, in fact for an A you were supposed to put in extra strong axles, Do not know if my A had them or not but the 227 was a load on the 51A. the 237 is just a newer version of the 227 with more sheilding to make it heavier but it was made with universal brackets that were supposed to fit any make or model tractor, Green, Red, Orange, Yellow, or Grey.

Dad used a 226 on a 39 A and it was low gear always and you couldn't pull a "barge box" in the hills. His later 49 A did much better, but in today's corn yield and stalk strength, I am not sure the 226 would have handled the volume even in low gear. Sorry, this is a bit off the question but am sharing fond memories.

No way. We had a 237 on our 1960 730, and the 237 was a load for it. Also had a 227 on a 1956 60. I think even a 227 would be too much of a load for a B.

We used a #226 mounted picker on out '52 Gas "B" from 1952 to 1970 and it ran it just fine.. You will be in 1st and 2nd, but that is going along pretty good... One thing, you will want to remove the shutters and have a water pump....the fine-screened Bonnett will not keep corn silks from covering the rawiator, and it is too hard to hand-clean it with the shutters in there...!!

I don't know about the #227, but it should not be all that much different...may mount on the same saddle mount.. Ron

It will work,,but its too much load if you want to really use it,,237s worked best on 3020s 4010s etc,,,,,
