Does anybody have any experience with tarp covered buildings for barn / hay storage? Hiqual or coverall or ?? I am thinking of one 24' x 48'. Thanks Paul

I don't have one, but I've priced them out. I found the price to be just about the same as a pole frame, and they do have some advantages. I like lots of light. The big disadvantage is the cover. There's been a couple around here that lost their covers, and if you're a few years down the road when that happens, you're paying the best part of it. The pole frame with galvalume isn't so likely to lose it's roof.... So I tend to think that the Cover-All's and super structures will cost more in the end.
Also, you could look at a full steel structure. Dunno which are big in your area, but I've seen some very attractive prices here recently. Might look into it....

74x232' super structure with chimneys,6' open sidewalls for curtains and finished ends is about 195 grand for the shell alone fully constructed.

I am putting up 40 x 100 this year with 8' side walls covered with steel and one closed end one end open for now. Cover all and calhoune are both around 28G and pole type would be around 48K. Both prices are for finished buildings and I live in snow belt area.

i've been considering one. i definitly need the storage but the price of the hoop buildings has gotten high enough that i am considering getting a 30 x40 x 12 built . the price isnt that much higher for one with rafters .as much as i'd like to save some money by doing it myself, i think i might be $ ahead time wise going ahead a dn spending the $10,000.oo and having it up.

My brother in law has used a hoop building for 8 to 10 years, has worked good for him. He has big round bails in the middle, the combine in one end and uses the other for ground hay.
