I am trying to restore an old Bemis setter (transplanter). Does anyone have any information on it? Colors? Etc?

I have one my grandpa bought new in 1948. It is in perfect mechanical condition but I am not sure about color. I will look next time I am over there it is stiil setting in barn where he unhooked it thirty-five years ago. We used this thing when I was kid to set tobacco, vegetable plants and potato's. Originaly gramps pulled it with neighbors mules he said his team of horses walked to fast for setter riders to keep up with. In 1950 he bought a new farmall Cub the rest is history.

Our Bemis is rusty, I don't know what color it use to be other than we used it a few years to plant tobacco. It wasn't the most comfortable thing but it worked here in Maryland.

Thanks, I don't know how much it will be used in Kentucky. Maybe an acre tops, so it won't kill us. I just want it restored as best as possible to show off with my horses during plow days!

This setter (transplanter) was supposed to have been built by Madison Plow, Madison Wisconsin.

I'm not old enough! That's hard to believe, I guess I need help from the real old timers!
