Can any body come up with a discription or picture of what we called a "stucker" some years back for darren64. I think they sold for less than a thousand and lots of people used them to put bales in a pirimid to grab with a loader. Could have some other name, but around here it was stucker. Could be just what he is looking for. Lots of Eastern Co people used them, but a long time back

NOt sure if I can find any pictures of the ones we used way back when I was Kid. But remember being dragged around the hay fields for days stooking hay. Had to make sure each bale was placed properly with the cut edges down so the rain wonuldn't get in the bales. We bought an allied automatic stooker it worked OK for a awhile untill the springs and pivots wore out ,thaen had to have it rebuilt. The counter was a pain also. On and off the tractor more than baling when it didn't work right.Dad wanted to mount a seat on it so somebody could trip it manually. Never did that just got rid of it and went back to manual stooker(Dad drove the tractor again and dragged me on the stooker behind the baler). Sure was a good days work.we would put between 15,000 to 20,000 small bales a year that way.Just before we quit the cattle and started cash cropping the round balers were out for a couple of years. But we never did own one. After the hay sat a couple days we load the stooks with the front loader and stack the hay on the wagons. Man this brings back some memories and sore muscles.

I don't know what one is - not used around here, but isn't it spelled 'stooker'? Got a few hits when searching for bale stooker on Google.

Yeah,

Why didn't we take pictures back then? I can' t even find a picture of a two-row John Deere tater digger either.

Just in my mind's eye and that's not always 20/20. :>)
