Help with plow ID I have a IH trailing mold board 2x16 on steal. I'm trying to get it ready for our local plow day. I used our 2 point C2 F20 2x12 last year but would like to take both this year. Thank you for your help
By the way if some of you are close enough to South GA. We would love to have you stop by.

I'll have some time to work on it this spring so I'll clean up the hitch, disassemble and clean/lube the trip mechanism, wheels, etc. Are there any tips for the above? Is there a specific clevis I should get for this hitch?

Thanks.

Bob: It's been some time and your photos don't open for me. I tried right clicking and that makes them disappear. I'll send you an e mail then you return photos attached. I have two IH plow parts books covering 65 plows between 1930 and 1965, thus we should be able to nail it.

Thank you Hugh I jest slipped down to look have church clothes on so can't do much but yes it has a linkage between the tail wheel and left front. Now whit that figured out I can start looking for the parts I need (maybe) I wish I could get it painted before plow day but that will have to wait. Thanks again Larry in GA

Larry: Very likely you have a Little Genius No.8. Does it have a linkage from tail wheel to left front wheel rockshaft? This linkage is designed to lift back of plow, and that would most certainly make it No. 8, unless newer. The No. 60 would have same type linkage, but likely box beam diagnol on top and trip bottoms, very likely rubber tires. I've never seen a No. 60 on steel.

The other possibility is Little Wonder no. 4, it would have no tail wheel or a fixed tail wheel, and a linkage from plow frame down to hitch would cause back of plow to lift, kind of same principle as top link on a 3 point plow. I don't think the Little Wonder was ever built 16" cut.

There are some other Little Genius models, with that same linkage to tail wheel, however they are orchard plows with levers backwards, chain lifts, 3-4 bottoms, etc. not very common, but one can never say never. Don't rule out some one changing a 3 bottom Little Genius 14 or 15 to 2 bottom.

Randy: the Little Wonder No. 3 was only ever built as a single bottom plow, and yes it was a 16" bottom. The Little Wonder Nos. 1, 2 and 4 were all two bottom and the information I have mentions only 14" bottoms. The No. 1 was built from 1921 to 1925, No. 2 from 1927 to 1929, No. 4 1929 to 1942 and the No.3 from 1940 to 1948.
