Hi , I looked through the implement photo section for a picture of this plow . Is this the right description of it ? 504 pictures and not a single one of this model . If this a real model # is it on steel or rubber , does it have a tail wheel and which kind ( carry or crazy ) , what type of lift and trip , 3 point or pull and approximately which years was it built ? Thanks ...Randy

Hi Leroy , Me ? Think ? Never !!! Gosh I thought I was done with homework last year when I got out of the eighth grade ! HA-HA!! Seriously , I haven't found many plows of the 2 or 3 bottom variety for sale recently around here . RickL has one about 3 hours south of me but without a trailer big enough I've got to pass on that one . It's pretty much got to be a plow I can go get and pull home . We'll see . I have that JD 555H not to far from me and I guess that model is supposed to be a good plow . No hurry though . I can always re-sell it if it's not what works for me . The 555 H plow should be hydrolic lift with high clearance beams and blade type shares on a trip back beam, around here they are very scarce as by the time they were made the semi mounted had taken over the plow market with 4 bottom units, the bottoms would be the same as the 145 series semi mount plow. I am thinking around here that 555H could be a $500 plow, don't know as not enough for a market to exist and it is NOT convertable to a 2 bottom. Should also have all 3 wheels same 15" size.

Randy: there were two different No. 15 plows built, one an experimental unit around 1944, on steel 3 bottom, big clearence plow for plowing down corn stalks. The photo I have makes it look a large scale No.8. The tail wheel lifts back of plow same as No. 8.

The second No.15, and I say second as I believe the 15 was just discontinued for a few years. Anyhow the only full production No.15 was built in 1957 and 58 only. I don't have a photo of this however it was on rubber, very high clearence, and quite similar to early model. There are not likely a lot of no. 15 plows around as it was only built about 30 months total, and that is quite a short production run for an IH plow.

Hi Hugh , If you see this I was looking for manuals through Binder and they skipped the model 15 . Went from the model 10 to the 16 . If it's that scarce I don't think I want one anyway . I want a good usable easy to find parts for plow . A #8 seems to fit the bill . But I have this JD555h available so close by it's probably the one I'll get . I haven't been to look at it yet do to the exteme cold right now . Maybe this weekend . Thanks for the info ! ...Randy
