Last summer the very last roller bearing(the last roller on the gate to let the bales out) went out on my bailer, we found this out by catching the machine and field on fire but luckily the fire didn't catch the belts and was extinguished quickly. Now i was wondering how to replace the bearings in the roller. I can easily take the bunch off but cannot figure out how to get them apart to replace it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

CJ

Remove the roller from the baler. There are roll pins holding each shaft cap on. Remove the roll pins and knock the shaft caps off. More that likely you will need to heat the shaft caps and hit with a large hammer. If you can get the roller in a press that would help a lot. When the shaft caps are removed remember how they go on. The shaft and the cap are drilled at the same time, so they are a match fit. Once the caps are off you can press the shaft out of the roller. Then the bearings will come out of the ends.
