bobcat style quick attach adaptor for loader

Does anyone know where I could get plans or drawings for a bobcat style quick attach adaptor to mount on a tractor loader so I can use the bobcat attachments on my backhoe?

I don't know about getting plans. You'll probably have to draw them up yourself.
You may find that you can buy an adapter if you look around. Check with local dealers. You could also look into Horst Loader Attachments. They offer a series of adapters, but I don't know if they have bobtach stuff, or just universal skid steer adapter mounts. I'd be very careful with them (and anyone else) as well because their design may involve changing your attachments to make them fit the loader, and thus change their performance on the skid steer. BT/DT. If I was doing it over again, I'd just build my own. The biggest thing to watch is the pin geometry on the loader. If that's not right, the rollback and dump angles will be completly screwed up, which was the problem I had with HLA, and if I changed my attachments, they'd be out of whack for my skid steer.... so I changed the adapter.... You're headed into a grey area. Good luck.

I know I can buy adapters but they want so much for such a simple fabrication. Then I still have to fab the mounting ears to make it fit my machine as they just sell a blank. I have considered the dump angles and all. I dont think it should be to hard to make it right as I will have to fab the mounting ears myself. Like you say I may have to take a really good look at a bobcat quicktach and make my own drawings. I just dont have the time and was hoping someone here has already tackled this prob.

When you mention the blanks, do you mean the dummy plates that you attach to the implement to mount on the bobtach system, or the actual bobtach mounting system? Also, be clear as to whether this is the older style bobcat system, or the more modern Universal Skid Steer attachment system. Most machines built within the last 10-15 years probably have a universal system unless the other was specified. That said, HLA will supply the universal system for certain, that will fit a wide variety of loader models. It ~should~ be a 15 minute pin on operation, and then grab and go with your skid steer attachments. Should is a big word. I wasn't happy with the one I got, but that's a story for another day.
I'd keep in mind that if you go building one, by far and away the largest component of the work is doing the drawings and figureing out the geometry on the pins to maintain the proper dump angles. I spent hours and hours modeling that in AutoCad to get it right. For the price of them to buy, it's not worth your time to build your own if you value your time.... I think it was mabey 600 bucks? I would just check and double check that it fits your application, and have them spell it out on paper, signed, so that you have something to fall back on if you're not happy.
AS I say, HLA has universal adapters that fit a wide variety of loaders. There's probably other companies out there that do the same. I can assure you that designing and building one is a lot of work. Just the modifications I did was a lot of work. Anyhow, good luck.
