I have a Hyster W5A winch on the back of a Komatsu D45 and need to know what type of fluid the Winch sould use ? Thanks

Winches use Hydraulic oil, not gear oil. TSC sells good stuff but there 's 2 types. Read the label & it will tell you. Maybe Hyster website or Komatsu or dealer website can help you further.

Thanks for the responses, Hyster does not seem to acknowlage that they made winches. Komatsu & Catepillar don't want to be bothered looking infact both told me to go to NAPA win I went in to buy Filters & Oil.

I would agree with the bull- otherwise, post on the crawler board for industrial equipment info. Bound to get a good reply there.

I could be wrong, but I think a winch would use gear oil. I would call 1-800-HYSTER-1 or email them at [email protected] and they should have an answer for your question. Hal
