Does anyone know anything about these models? I'd like to pick up a roundbaler and was wondering if this was a good one or not.

Not trying to be a salesman or anything, but I have decided to get rid of some of my equipment. I have a J.D. 466 baler and if your interested just let me know, I'm located in Texas. I would like to get about $9000 for it.

I agree with these guys. Don't even look at a 410, had one, just problems. Bought a JD 510, no better, dumped that one, bought a JD 435. Good machine, would suggest any model from the 435 up. Parts are reasonable. You will need the monitor w/that machine. Also, besure to get a manual with what ever you buy. BTDT
Good Luck.....

we used to have a 410 and KEH is right to the tee! They were a very poor baler compared to the more modern ones.Plugged often in hay fields and did just a fair job on straw too.430's were pretty good balers and are getting quite old so should be reasonably cheap.435's can be picked up fairly cheap also.If you can't justify buying a decent baler, you will probably be better off hiring someone else to do it and save yourself some agony.Hope this isn't a little too blunt lol.Phill.

I've never had one, but from talking with other people and seeing posts on here they don't seem to be very good balers. They don't have an open throat and do have a wide flat belt in the bottom that is expensive to replace. They were on of the first models of JD balers.

My opinion from using other balers is that you should try to get a round balers made from the mid 1980s up. By then the manufacturers had the technology pretty well advbanced.
