Currently own an 846 NH and am thinking of upgrading to a 848. I believe the 848 will make a tighter bale about the same size, is buildt a little heavier and should allow me to make silage bales, occasionally, that I could have a neighbor wrap with his inline wrapper. Anyone have any experience using one of these to make silage bales? How would it hold up? Any problems? Any advantage to being net wrap instead of twine (besides speed of baling)? Any comments on this baler appreciated. Thanks.

i got an 848 last summer and really like it. i baled some soghum for wrap, and a bunch of hay baleage. it just runs a little harder when you turn up a hill with most of a bale in the chamber. i have a neighbor with one also, his doesnt have the apron chain reverse uption like mine does so when he is done baling if the bale isnt full size he has to pull it out of the baler manually. this can be real problem when baling grass right behind the mower to feed imeadiatly. hope this helps
