Has anybody out there ever used or know anything about a Servis model P, pull behind 5' brush hog? I just bought one for my old Farmall and am trying to find out any information I can on the thing. It's serial #252 so the thing must be a late 40's model mower I'd guess. Looks like a pretty solid machine.

If your rotary mower needs a pto shaft like I think it used(no needle brgs in cups),find a scrap Servis whirlwind terracer as pto shafts are similiar. I bought one out of local scrap yard. The first Servis products I remember were red. Tx Jim

Brad,I sold Servis equipment in the 60'/80's. They were built in Dallas on Singleton Blvd. It was a division of Austin Bridge Co.. The name was changed to Rhino and later moved to Seguin,Tx. They made top of the line rotary mowers and blades. I dont remember a straight P model but I think they had a PT model. The width in inches followed any letters. E60/economy 60in,GY72/Gyro 72in,PT was a pulltype.HTH,Tx Jim

BCnT, I need a pto shaft for mine as well. Tires on mine are bad but the rims look to be in good shape.

Servis became part of Rhino later on. Is yours painted red? We a 5 ft. red one but I'm not sure if it was a P model or not. It was made in 50s and we had a windrow attachent and extra bolt on cutter blade to run between the two blades for finer cutting. It would chop and windrow maize stalks for direct pickup with a baler.

Yeah, mine is painted a Farmall Red. It's been raining so much here that I haven't been able to do a really good inspection of it but it looks like on at least parts of it that there is a green paint below the red, somewhat lighter than a JD green.

Maybe the early ones were light green? I know they went from red to yellow sometime in 60s before Rhino bought Servis out. Will look to see if we still have any old literature on Servis at all.

If you find anything on these old mowers, I'd be interested in getting a copy. Do you know if parts/ blades etc are still available from Rhino?

I called Servis a couple years ago looking for information on an old blade. They were very eager to help and sent me all they had. Good company with good equipment. I would give them a call.
