Weight of JD 55ABH plow needed

Hi, I am building a pole building, and I want to have one of the trusses built so that I can off load my JD 55 plow from my trailer, using an hoist mounted to the truss, and need to know how much one of these weighs ?
Can anyone help? The manual does not list a weight.

My front end loader is rated for 1000 lbs. It would not pick it up. I would say 1200#'s

why not put a steel beam across the headers that the truss sit on and not take the chance on breaking a truss. you could construct an a frame out in the yard some place by setting some good size poles in the ground and getting a steel beam to go across it. a good chain hoist hooked to a big chain across the beam should do the trick. i would want to take the chain hoist down in between times so it want rust up seting out in the weather.

My builder can add to the trusses, just costs more, the span is 48', I was just hopeing that somone would know off the top of their head.

Hi The easy solution is weigh the trailer empty , load the plow and weigh it with the plow on it . Takes some time but that's the weight you need to KNOW as opposed to GUESS . What the heck ! Build it to take 2 tons or more , because if you lift the plow you'll want to lift other things as well in time . Might as well prepare for it now . ...Randy

Well, it depends on how it is equipped. I would say low side 1000 lbs. High side 1500 to 2000.
