IH 425 baler questions

Can you still get parts for these? any problems with these balers. I am looking for a baler to do about 2000 bales a year with thrower. This one seems cheap enough

i wore a 430 completely out bailing for the public. the other guy was right you have to keep the trash out from under the knotters and all around it. i even went to the trouble of putting an air tank on the back of mine and would bale with it until it started missing and would get off and blow the knotters clean and it would go back to bailing. i did have a problem with one of the strings tying closer to one side than the other one did. in slick grass that side would pull off of the bale easy. the plunger has got a lot of bearings on it and you'll have to be careful that they don't wear out and let the plunger drop over to one side. parts off of an old 47 baler will fit it in some places.

I had a 430 in late 70's and 80's, 1976 model bought new.Make sure plunger rails are straight, the blocks are tight or replace them. Keep both bale knives sharp. Make sure you find out what twine, knotters were set up to run.ie sisal, plastic, regular, heavy duty.Don't interchange, find what works stick to it. Excellent baler, good tight, strait bales.Oh yes keep knotters clean 2-3 times a day, don't let material build up and getwedged around knotters.
