Hi all, I was wondering if anybody here has
ever used a jack hammer with a moil point to make a pilot hole for t-post through rocky
ground? I am considering doing that oppossed
to drillin pilots with my belltec & a puff auger.
I'be heard ppl say dirt plug's up the orifice, but I think their referring to the air drills?
Anywho, lemme kno & thanx.

I set 2000 at my dads place that way in 1988. Something I will never forget. We drilled 2000 holes with the jack hammer for the T posts, and another 1000 we drilled the same and shot a 1/2 stick of gelamite for the wood posts. Got a compressor and jack hammer from the local contrators rental place, then set everything in concrete. If I had it to do over, I'd have set angle iron in the holes where we set the wood posts and bolted them in place.

oh I own a shaver hd-8 post driver. It does
a good job with pipe driving through rock. But the t-post is what I trouble with.
