Last year I picked up an older style post hole digger. It's not a 3-point hitch style and the owner believed it came off of an old
Farmall of some type. The paint or whats left of it is IH red. There are two metal ID tags on it. One says "Danuser Digger" and
the other "Dearborn Mfg., Tractor and Implement Div., Ford Motor Co., Model 22-59". What I would like to know is what type of tractor this unit would fit on and how
this digger attaches to the tractor. It has two main lift arms (pipe about 5' long) which have perpendicular bushings welded to one
end as though to fit over a 7/8 pin. About 2' down from the open end are two plates welded to the pipe. The plates are set
about 1 1/2" apart and have holes for a 3/4 pin (obviously a lifting point). On top of the main lift arms slip 2 larger diameter
pipes about 2' long. These pipes are connected to the auger head. These pipes also have connected to them 4'long 1" diameter
pipes which look as though they attach back to the tractor somewhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was checking another site on the net and came up with an address and phone number for DANUSER. Perhaps they can help, since their name appears on the posthole digger. It's worth a try. They were listed as manufacturers of posthole diggers. Danuser Machine Company / 500 East Third Street / Fulton, Missouri 65251-0368. Phone [573] 642-2246. Be prepared to give them any info which appears on the nameplate.

Sounds like you need to check with your local Ford tractor dealer. With the Dearborn name on it, I believe that you have a piece of Ford equipment. A lot of the equipment made for the old Ford N series tractors carried the Dearborn name. I'm wondering if it wasn't made to hook to a three point hitch and you just haven't got it all figured out yet.

35 yrs ago, or so, we borrowed a post hole digger from a friend that sounds similar. The ends of the long pipes you describe mount under the rear axles, then the lower links attach somewhere near midpoint of the pipe arm. It's been too long ago, but I seem to remember it being a bear to hook up. (was a lot better than digging by hand, though!)
