Shroud as in what are you referring to?? Theres fan shrouds, shrouds around moveing parts, shrounds for saw blades etc. etc. All depends on what your asking about since shrouds and used on 1000s of things and most are for safety but orthers and for directing air, saw dust grain, etc. etc.

Hi Barry

My definition of a shroud is the entire grill assembly that goes around the radiator. Like this:

I would say the other definitions are also correct. So it is safe to say the definition varies from person to person and tractor brand LOL

Barry,

The shroud is that formed metal affair around the outside diameter of a fan that insures that all the air is coming in thru the radiator.

Without it, the fan could pull from outside air "behind" the radiator and cut it's efficiency.

Hi Barry, My definition of a shroud is a metal guard such as the the metal guard around a belt, roller chain, open moving gears, or other moving parts. Generally, a shroud is stationary to protect a person from moving parts underneath. Maybe others have their thoughts. Wayne

It has something to do with a square baler.
