Anyone out there have an opinion on bale accumulators? I am looking into getting an accumulator and grapple for my hay operation. I bale about 8000 small square bales a year that I sell straight off the wagon to horse people.

I think you will like it in the long run but...let's see...8000 bales a year....sell off the wagons....

You must have a lot of wagons and a lot of really good weather!!!

We produce between 7,000 and 12,000 bales every year depending upon yield, weather, and custom work. We make four cutting per year on all of our hay.

We have 3 20', 2 16' and 1 18' wagon for making all that hay. We load the wagons FULL so we can have about 1,200 bales on wagons if we need to.

Putting up that much hay doesn't require a lot of wagons, just coordiation and labor.

Jim

I been running hoelscher unit for several years, two grapples, one on skidloader other on tractor. You need to learn them and be ready for some headaches at first, after you figure them

out they do okay, mine is non stop after light modifying, love it now. call if interested in that.319-257-6764

Greatest invention since sliced bread!!!
Your back is gonna love it. I've got my grapple on a skid steer. That's really handy for stacking in tight spots, but they generally don't lift as high as a tractor loader does.
As far as brands, I think Holscher (sp?) is about the best, but I have a drag type and it works fine for me.

Good luck in your search, Larry NE IL

I would think it would cut down on the labor when
you have to do the stacking. You can probably write off some of it off on your income taxes too.
