Set the tractor to the correct speed for 560, 1000 pto, or belt speed.

Or what is it you are trying to figure out?

Pretty simple really. Run as much throttle as necessary to get the work done..... ..you're not going to hurt the mill. I'd say about 3/4 throttle would be a good place to start.....if the tractor chokes down.....give it more fuel.

if your grinder has 540 shaft then crank up to 540 useing the tack, if 1000 then do the same with tack and grind on. Mine has a 540 shaft so i crank up 540 and let it rip.

The two hammer mills I have been involved with both had a decal saying '3600 RPM' by the hammermill shaft. Jim

It has been a long time but isnt feet/minuet posted by the belt pully on the grinder. Pto grinder should have 540 or 1000 rpm for pto speed. We had an old belt driven hammermill and later a Letz burgrinder that was pto drive.
