My old JD FB-B Grain Drill (with spring trip hoe openers, not disks)needs help. One cast iron hoe opener broke off where the replacement steel hoe tips (furrow tip) bolts on. Does anyone know if this item can be found? Or does anyone have an old one laying around for parts? I suspect I may not the only one with this cast iron part breaking.

I have an old JD that came with a couple of the hoe assemblies broken - yes, mine had disk openers, but I ground the broken edges to a bevel, and welded them with a wire welder. They're still holding after several years of drilling!

I don't know how much your looking to spend, but I bet if you can find a helpful parts guy, your local Deere dealer can get it. They could get the single disk openers for the same drill, anyway. Not cheap but they could get them.
