What does it take in terms of time and parts to convert a NH LS 180 skid steer from hand to foot controls?

Probably the best part of a day, hanging upside down like a bat to do the work.... Costwise I don't know. You'll need the pedals and the appropriate linkage to convert the boom controls to foot, and the linkage to put the third valve on the right stick. Personally I can't quite see why anyone would want hand controls unless they couldn't properly control the pedals. Doing too much with your hands, and on rough ground the hand controls are friggin' with the loader more than the foot controls. Foot controls are so so much easier to deal with, once you're used to them. Good luck on the conversion.

The Boy Scout camp I hang out at has a donated experimental model 777 or something close that came with hand controls. I believe it was manufactured when New Holland was playing around with hand controls. Anyway, we will be converting it to foot controls, but we also have a factory employee to assist us. The cables are shot, and being experimental, we can't get anymore, but we haven't started yet.

New Holland has offered hand controls for a long time your skidsteer would be a 7775 John Deere same as a 865 or 885 New Holland I can get you all the parts you want. Nothing experimental about your skidsteer

Keep using it ..... carefully..... you'll get used to the controls faster than you think.

We have two skid steers on the farm and want to keep them the same. It just happened that we have always had foot controls.

Before swwitching one, I'd get used to the hand control machine. You might be surprised which one you'll like to switch over. It's just a personal thing- what one gets used to, but I've had both and will take hand over foot anyday. I like to have my feet solid on the floor, especially on rough ground.

kit is around 1000.00 and it will take the better part of a day for you to switch it
