I typed in "rare" in the ag part on ebay, and I was surprised to find this: Item #230066532367, which is a precleaner screen to go under the precleaner above the hood. Nothing special about it, looks just like the one on our 1855.

Hmmmm, That gives me an Idea..... I bet I could sell ours for this much too if I say it's from a deere....

Of course, this is NOS and must be impossible to buy new fomr the dealers... Give me a break! I bet I could find one if I went and asked about one at the dealer.... Lots of tractors used those style of precleaners with or without those screens underneath. Could get one for a deere from an Ollie dealer, all ya need to know is intake tube OD.

I see your name all the time on the Oliver forum. Anyway, I got the plastic bowl for my 1550 at the local Deere dealer. It was 15 minutes from home while the closest Agco dealer is 1 hour away. 6 years in the parts busines (3 at White 3 at Deere) and you learn a few things about what will and won't fit other colors.

The vast majority of air cleaners used on all tractors were built by the Donaldson company, and more often than not the parts will interchange from one make to another. Nothing rare about any of that stuff. It's amazing to me that some people seem to think adding the word "rare" to a description will make it sell for a higher price. If indeed it was "rare", you would not need to list it on ebay for it to bring what it is worth.

I have seen books listed on eBay listed as rare two weeks after they were released and available in any mall bookstore. NEVER trust a seller's statements on rarity.
