Just wanted to clarify to my previous post about towing a baler, does it matter that the tounge is offset? Kevin

This spring I purchased a MF 10 about 75 miles from my farm. I moved the tongue to the transport position and locked it in place, attached to my pickup and went down the road. I figured I would have to go slow but darn if it didn't tow super! I was doing 40-45 mph easy. I accientally hit 50-55 nce but I tried to keep it around 40-45 to be safe. It didn't swing or anything it went down the road like a normal trailer - a bit wider though:)

Dad had an ess shaped extension on the drawbar on the old Farmall Regular that allowed the baler to exactly follow the tractor when on the road.
You might want to consider such an extension bolted to your bumper.Used it for the Massey Harris Clipper combine too since the hitch didn't swing over.

It matters, but it's how it is. ;)

Swing it to the transport position, then your pickup is closer to centered. Still need to watch mailboxes on the right.

Balers have a set up to tow them and a set up to operate them. I.E. the tongue swings so that when towed they do not stick out as wide as they do when your baleing with them
