NH 502 hay conditioner timing marks

any input as to the timing marks on a NH 502? should they be aligned pointing towards each other? i would guess so, but just checking.

I think the model is a 402. The timing marks should be realigned - easy to do - loosen the leaf springs off completely and have a helper lift the springs to open the rolls and rotate to align the marks. We had two and they were okay. The problem we had were the rolls wereopen which caused the hay to wrap. I think if the rolls were turning faster - 1000 rpm, you wouldn"t have the problem. We have a MF swather with a crimper with identical rolls,but it never wraps because the rolls travel 800 rpm. We sold them and found a John Deere 22 with solid intermeshing rolls and the wrap problem was gone.
