The spreader Deere had on the market in the 30"s was the horse drawn model E. The plate on these spreaders says model E followed by a serial number. These plates were tacked to the inside wood next to the operators foot platform. Mine is a five digit number. Series numbers aren"t serials, and means a batch manufactured alike up to a change, but the same model. The E was in red wood body with green iron work, yellow wheels. Early 40"s Deere came out with the model H which was all green, yellow wheels in both tractor drawn and the HH horse drawn four wheel. In my area, the poorist condition would bring $200.00, with the example in mint restored status commanding a $1000.00 asking price.
