I've got me a Massey 1560 round baler that I like just fine. About the only improvement other than the odd bearing change would be to modify it for some sort of a bale kicker. Has anybody tried this and had any luck with adding a kicker somehow? Thanks for any suggestions.

I thought about doing that on a Vermeer 605F. I always though car springs with one end cut off would work. If you bolted them to the square tube that the axles bolt to, they would not hang down to catch on anything, but still clear the underside of the tailgate.

The other option would be a ramp similar to later model Gehl balers.

IF you try it , let us know how it works. I gave up on the project 'cause the Vermeer burned up and I replaced it with a NH664.

John, Thanks for your reply, the use of car springs sounds interesting and I should have to get me a look at one of those Gehl balers as well. Have you any idea on what model Vermeer started to use a kicker? Too bad about yours burning up, Ive heard that more than once. Thanks again and have a good one eh?
