Have a set of JD quick-tach 2 row cultivators for my '50 B. Lookin to JD tech publications to get manual for it. Need to know the true model # of this cultivator. Is it a B-200? If so , what is the non-quick-tach (earlier) ones called? Just don't want to get the wrong manual. The man at Deere 800 number says his listing just says B-200 but nothing about "quick-tach" and by his own admission doesn't know one from the other. On the web site , I can type in any number of descriptions and even the B-200 and it comes back with no listing. I don't think it is working?? Any help would be appreciated. Stan in Fla , maybe Dean out in IA ?? Am restoring it to put on the "B" for shows and thought a manual might be a nice touch. Thank You "B"

"B",

I can't add anything to what has already been said, I'm afraid. The oldest piece of cultivator literature I have is from 1953 and doesn't show anything other than Quik-Tatch cultivators.

From using a two-row cultivator without (on a '43 B) and with Quik-Tatch (on a '49 A and a '52 B), all I can say is that the Quik-Tatch is a heckuva lot easier to mount onto the tractor. If memory serves me right, the basic cultivator was the same either way, but my memory has turned to mush.

Stan

the quick attach was a option avaliable on the 200 but the cultivator itself was the same thing.

I have a OM-N8-449 operator's manual for a 200 series in my hand. It covers the Quik Tach. It came with my 200 cultivator many years ago. A couple bucks for mailing, and I'll send it to you. It's in fair to good condition

Just email me your address. I'll go ahead and mail it. Postage can't be enough to worry about.

The quick-tach was an option that followed the introduction of the 200 cultivator. My neighbors had the 200 cultivator(which would fit an A or a B) and bought the quick-tach later when it came out. Made things easier. There should be no difference in the cultivator itself.

Here is a pic of a 200 series cultivator. If yours looks like this, then you know for sure which manual to get.

The cultivator is a 200 Series cultivator. The quick tach frame was an option for this cultivator, so you would be safe in getting the manual for the 200 series cultivator. If you really wanted to, you could take the rectangular frame from between the two sides and mount this cultivator on side at a time. My original manual is OM-Ns-1154. "200 Series Row-Crop Cultivators for John Deere Models 50 60, 70, A, B, and G Tractors."

Just went to JD Parts dot com and looks like the manual you need is OMA171047 or if you want it on CD: OMA171047CD.

listed in the table of contents. It's a original.
