Just bought a nice #12 4 bottom pull type plow. Sticker says "heavy duty tractor plow". Please let me know your opinion of these, and a good source for coulter blades and possibly some shares. Thanks

Thanks for the help- found the coulters ($20) and shares ($11) at farm & fleet. Had to order them, but seemed cheap enough.

Post the parts # for the shares, if it was a 16 they had a lot of shares to choose from, some of which (3 bolt shares) were shared with Massey...easy to find.

toolz: I've never seen a No. 16, however they must have been a good plow as IH sold 8,500 of them between 1953 and 1965. Only available in 3, 4 and 5 bottom, 14" and 16" size, that is good numbers. Built at the change over period from Little Genius plows to the newer 60 and 70 it has a lot of the qualities of both. Got to be a good plow.

There are a coulple of forgeing companies in the mid west making wear parts for these, and if your in the east, a forgeing company in Quebec. I expect there are others. Best source is get a hold of guys involved in plow days or competition plowing in your area. These guys always know the best source for your area.
