Hello all,
I just purchased a Mount Vernon 10 foot lime spreader manufactured by the Mount Vernon Implement Co. I'm interested in finding a manual or some general information on operation and the flow rate setting of the slide gate as the numbers are all gone. I did a Google and Yahoo search along with a search on the this web site including all discussion boards with not a single matched hit. I also checked eBay with no listings. Does anyone have any information they would be willing to share?
Thanks much.

I have one of those !

I have not had any luck finding any information on them either. The number wheel for setting the flow rate is totally useless. If I remember correctly, the number corresponded to the number of 1/16th of an inch that the gates were open.

Thanks Greg,
I was hoping that the numbers would have corresponded to pounds/tons applied per acre.

Brent,

They do. Is your spreader missing the 'Dial Setting / Pounds per Acre' plate on the tongue ? If so, I can take a picture of mine and post it in the Implement Photo section. It's getting dark, so it won't be there until tomorrow.

Greg,
That would be really helpfull if you could take a picture as mine is completely rusted away and then I could possibly duplicate the numbers. You can just email me the picture if that would be easier.
Thanks again
Brent

I don't see a way to attach a picture, I'll put them in the Implement Photo Gallery.

Greg,
My mistake as I see you can't paste an email to the YT "send email" option. Unfortunaely the resolution of the picture gallery is only good to look at on a computer screen and doesn't allow zooming without distorting the picture. I can't read the chart with enough detail to get the all the values. If I could twist your arm to send me an email reply I can then send you an email back and then you could paste your original pictures in the second email to me. Thanks so much for doing this.
Brent
