I'm looking for a 5 bottom plow to pull with my jd 830, and I was wondering what I should expect to pay for one? I've got a jd 555 4-14 plow now, and found that the 830 can handle it fairly easily. Thanks Adam

My experience has been that a "matching" JD plow (model 66H, 666H, 77H or 777H) in Ill start over $500, and end around $2000. The heaver duty "7" models bringing the higher prices. The newer box beam pull type JD plows are cheaper and although I don't know the highest prices, they never approach $1000. Generally IH plows are a lot cheaper, but expect to spend at least $300. I have a 5 bottom 66H, wish it was a 777H, and place a value on it around $700-$800.

Here in KS, something like a 5-16 in-furrow plow sells for not much over scrap price, probably less than $500. On-land 6-18's and the like are worth far more. If plowing is still regularly done in your area, prices might be a lot higher than here, though. I would imagine that since you would be looking for a drawn plow and not a semi integral your prices and selection might both be lower.

Local JD dealer has this used one that he's asking $5500 for. It is an 18 incher tho.

You and 'em flip overs. Saw a very nice 5X16 White semi-mount sell (So. KY) couple weeks ago for under $200.
