Sorry to hear about your loss Randy. I've got 4 older brothers and I hope we can live till we're 80, and enjoy telling stories about our youth. Heck, one of 'em bailed me out of a whole clusterfuck of a problem today with his silver tounge. He tends to have that gift, got it from our dad...

Be there for his sons. My Momma was 53 when she passed on from cancer, I was 22. She has been gone 14 years. The hurt gets easier to deal with, but it hasn't gone away yet. Her sister really stepped in and helped me when I needed someone. Give the boys time to heal, then help them to remember the good things and let them know that when they need someone that they can depend on you. They not only lost their Daddy, but they lost a role model, a corner post and some of the glue that holds things together. I will add yall to my prayer list. Remember the good things, keep his memory alive in your heart and none of the other stuff matters now. Take care. Peace. CL

Thanks CL . I'd like to be there for them but they are in another state . I'm not real close to them as a result but they have two uncles close by them that will do good by them , my younger brother and their mom's brother .

My brother , older sister and I can relate to losing a parent at an early age , we lost our mom when I was 12 and my younger brother was 9 , 37 years ago for me . We lost our dad 5 years ago . It's never easy . Take care ...Randy

Hi Jimmy , Thank you ! Sorry about your loses too . Cancer sucks . He got cancer before in his eyeball which was removed and survived 16 years before it came back with a vengence . The oncologist said that if you get cancer once it will get you in the end . But that's not the hope that we all want to hear , that's just reality at least with malignant melinoma like he had . Take care ...Randy

Sorry for your loss. He wasn't very old. Small world. I lost my Aunt at 2:15PM yesterday. Same cancer that killed her Mom/My Grandmother 24 years ago and her cousin 4 years ago. Either get your self scoped or better yet have an Electron Beam Tomography. The scan shows inside and outside of everything internal of every organ. It even shows the extent of heart artery blockage. It's not easy no matter how long it is that you know it's inevitable . I'm sorry to hear about your loss .

No , he wasn't very old but this type of cancer isn't selective . He found out about it about a year ago after 16 years of being cancer free . He had a very rare ( extremely rare ) form of eye cancer which caused them to remove his eye the day after it was discovered . The Doc's say that this wasn't any form of genetic type of cancer . Take care ...Randy

My condolences. You will forever miss him.

I lost my sister in law on Thanksgiving morning in 2004 and my older brother( her husband ) on New Years 2005, then a brother in law just a couple of months back. It's been a rough couple of years.

When football season rolls around or I see or take a big buck, the first thing I think of is I wish I could talk to my brother. I really miss those talks on the cell phone from the shooting house.

Jerry , I'm not trying to be glib but they say that bad things happen in 3's so hopefully bad things will stop happening in your family .

Thank you ! I will miss him . I only got to see him a couple times a year since I moved away from St. Louis 25 years ago but he came up here to visit just three weeks ago so at least we got to say goodbye . Take care ...Randy

Randy - My heart goes out to you and your family. You have to take strength in knowing that he is no longer suffering. I lost my wife a year ago who had endured M.S. for over 30 yrs. No matter how bad it gets, when they do pass away, it still takes you by surprise. Just be thankfull that you had the opportunity to say good by, but it's gonna hurt for a long time just the same. Take care, we're all with you.

Thanks jimont , I'll see him again . I'm so sorry about your wife . His wife ( my S.I.L ) has MS also as did my mom who died from it when I was 12 . My sister in law doesn't have the bad form of it though ms is bad in any form . So far it just causes her skin to burn and she's on shot's to dull the pain . My mom was bedridden for the last 5 years of her life . Yes It really does come as a surprise and catches you off guard . He was doing fine two day's prior when I called ( fine meaning he was resting comfortably on oxygen ) - the drugs were doing there their job keeping him comfortable . I'm doing OK since I did get to say goodbye a few weeks ago when they came up to visit . He liked to come up and visit at my sisters log house in the woods . Thanks , Take care ...Randy
