My husband is looking at buying either a Krone or Claas round baler, both are fixed chamber. Anyone have experience with both of them? He has ran a Claas but have no experience with the Krone. Appreciate any information and opinions.

If he has run a Claas baler he knows more about it than I do. However, BIL has a belt type Claas which makes very tight bales. It is a net wrap and he, being elderly, can't load a full roll of net wrap. It loads from the front, up high. Bear in mind Claas makes a baler with large rollers which I have not seen operate. I assume it is a fixed chamber.

Krone is a fixed chamber baler using part chains and part rollers. I have seen them demonstrated and they make good 4 x 5 bales. Krone makes good quality equipment. The balers have been in production for a long time and should have the bugs worked out.

A fixed chamber baler makes a bale with a relatively soft center and a very tight outside which is supposed to resist rain damage better.
Hope this helps.
