Come to MO. They practically give them away here. Nice units bring maybe $300 if they are mint. $1000 would be a gold plated model here.

Budaa as far as pulling the picker, take a hand cable winch with you.

When I pulled mine home it got to swaying back and forth.

If I would have had a cable winch with me to hook to the outside snoot to pull toward the hitch to take the slack out on the swing pins I think it would have trailed a lot better.

Picker sounds okay to me.

Gary

The 12 row husking is a "must have" in today's higher yielding corn. We had a 325 (2 row 30 inch) with a 8 row bed and it was always overflowing in 140 bu/acre corn. If it is a 325 with a 12 row bed, $1000 is not a bad price. I would guess it would bring $1500 in this area. A model 324 (two row wide)is worth somewhat less. I have a model 330 (three row narrow) with husking bed and sheller. Paid $3000 about 10 years ago. Don't do ear corn anymore, but will use the sheller and park the combine if harvest progress allows some fun time.

they are nice pickers, we have 7 of them. but when you start changing bearings in the husking bed you will add new words to your vocabulary! trust me.

A 300 pulls the picker just fine, if you have a 100 bu barge box. With a 200 bu gravity box, gets a little low on hp just for the weight of the wagon. The 400 should do fine.

Good picker, basicly look over all the sprockets & bushings & see if the rubber fingers are all there - they are _way_ spendy to replace - and look for rust-through at the bottom of the 2 elevators.

dealer i worked for in mid 70s sold lots of them . good picker i would think 400 should handle it might be a little slow going . towing 70 miles behind pickup won't be fun as i rememder didn't trail the best .

If you want clean corn in the wagon, want to go a decent speed and don't want it all shelled on the ground the one to buy is a new idea!

A friend of mine has an IH two-row mounted picker (wide rows), that has always been sheaded and is in great mechanical condition. It is in S.E. Nebraska and could probably be had for $500. The mountings are for a 400. My email is open if his name and phone number are wanted.

Price of pickers is definitely location driven. Any decent 2 row on a dealers lot here is oer 2500.

The 12 roller is refering to the husking bed.A 12 cleans the corn husks off better.
A thousand is high for a picker.Around here $800 is the most I've seen them go for.
The 400 will pull it fine.See if you can have the guy run it for you.Where are you located? We have a like new NI 324 for sale.~brad

Check this web site. there is a 325 listed. ALso a NewIdea Uni w/2row picker for $900. It would be 2-3hours from you. >Link

For>Link hobby farming why not look at a 1 row picker? would be a bit cheaper(maybe) and easier to pull. Good luck.
