I have just purchased three JD plows all are on steel wheels. I believe that they are all 16in bottoms. I dont know how to identify them. I have found numbers on the plows can someone tell me if the numbers mean anything. the first one is 15452 on cross beam and 612&613 on the plow beams. The next is 18434 on the cross beam and 623&683 on the plow beams it also has a much larger lift wheel. The last one has 15833 on the cross beam and no numbers anywhere else HELP?

I just got home and am coming in late on these answers, your first plow is a #52, and the second is a #4 series most likely a 4B built before 1942 since it has the 32" land wheel. The third opne is a #45 plow, that is a much less common plow built from 1919 thru Feb. 1937. Sounds like a good collection!

Hey Earl you are correct on the numbers it is 623&583 so what does that make the plow. I did some more looking and found some numbers on the other plow. The numbers are 515&516 so what is this plow.

The 515 & 516 beams would make that one a No. 40 plow, which was originally built for use with a Fordson tractor.

Still can't help on the 623 and 583, however.

612 & 613 make that one a No. 52 plow. I don't find any info on the 623 & 683 numbers.

Stan thank you for your info I dont know much about plows I purchased some tractors and I ended up with the plows. A little more info the plow with the 623&683 came with slat bottoms that arn"t mounted to the plow ther isn"t any bottoms on it.They have JD numbers on them I believe thats what they are called. The plow looks similar to the #52 except the larger lift wheel. The other plow is quite different it looks lighter dutty maybe older no beam numbers.
