Does anyone know how wide one of these balers are. I purchased one but it is 100 miles away and I was wondering how wide of a trailer I need.

Thank you, Bill

I hauled my JD 327 home from 197 miles away. I bought a set of magnetic turn signals that simply plug into a 4 pin flat wire harness. Nice over hill and dale ride through narrow PA rodes.

Just got in from cutting what I hope will be my winter supply of hay. Looks like banjo has the measurements for you. Personally, I would haul it home behind a truck. Go slow and take the backroads. Makes for a nice trip and the baler will pull fine if the bearings are good and the tires reasonably in good shape.

Dave, I take it you are all set for grass hay for the year. I am doing a field right now over by the Metropark in case you need some. Be baling on Sunday.

Well, when I logged on this AM the gosh-forsaken
weather forcast for Tuesday has been changed to rain. If that is the case I won't even bother with it. Suppose I could bale it a LITTLE under done and leave it on the wagon. Maybe layer some salt into the bales. Never done it but might be worth a try. Not like I am going to sell it or put it in a barn I like. I'm thinking you must be on the other side of Brighton from me. What metropark you near? I do my cutting up around Kensington.

I am on the same side as you are, I am baling over on Lashbrook Ln off Kensington Road. I saw your field on Spencer this morning over at Beckmans? I think you are right, you lost your window but too late to do a "I told ya so. I bought hay from you like about 10 years ago when I was trying to find some more to peddle. I would think you be better off letting it sit and get rained on. I baled some the other day that sat for two weeks in this rainy cool weather and it was in pretty decent shape.

Bring a spare tire, and check the wheel bearings if you're worried about it. Hitch it to your truck and drag it. I haul my 532 Ford around behing my Ranger. Don't even narrow it up. Just hitch and go. Pulls it fine. Stops it fine. I'm not out on the highway, but that still wouldn't stop me.

It won"t fit on your car hauler, I am sure it is 8 feet wide at the wheels just like the rest of those JD square balers. I had a JD 14T, it was 8 feet wide. So you either have to hoist it in the air and set it on that trailer at an angle ( and then pick it up to get it off ) or rent a trailer at least 8 feet wide, or just put a ball mount in your receiver hitch without a ball on it, use a hitch pin to pin the baler hitch to that ball mount, and pull it home that way.

I pulled our baler around that way several times, you just have to stay off the interstate and be careful.

Hi David,

I would love it if you could let me know. I have tried for 3 days to get a dealer to help me with no luck. I am hoping it will fit on my car hauler trailer.

I never heard of a 224ws but I have two 224T balers here I would be happy to measure for you.
Are they somehow related?

T means it is twine tie. WS is wire "tie". Dimensions should be the same.

W designates its a wire tie-- S stands for single splice. They are a very good baler in my opinion.
