I am thinking of gettin a Ford 2000. What size plow, disc, and brush hog do I need. Also, how do you know what fits on what tractor?

Thanks,
KBJ

I owned and used a 2000 series Ford with a Superior Loader and Ford Scraper Blade. A 2/14" Mtd Ford Plow, a 6-7' Three point Disc and a 5' three point Rotary Cutter all will work nicely with this little Tractor. This Little Tractor is a dream to operate with any of the mentioned equipment. It also is great to rake Hay with or to pull Hay Racks etc. with.

The 2000 should have what's known in the industry as a Category 1 (Cat 1) three point hitch. Bigger tractors have Cat 2 and Cat 3 hitches. Little lawn tractors that have a three point hitch will have a Cat 0. The category size refers to the diameter of the pins, etc. So as long as you buy cat 1 equipment, it will fit your 2000 hitch.

I have used a ford 2000 diesel for the last twenty years. If you're new to tractors you can't know without asking other than just common sense. You'll need your implements to attatch with a three point hook-up. A 2000 will handle a two bottom twelve or fourteen inch wide plow in most soils (hardly in clay, due to wieght of tractor not getting traction). It will match up nicely with a five foot brush hog and a six foot tandem disk. Let me know if you have other questions. They're good tough tractors. -Matt.
