The trailing wheel on my old brush hog was catty-whompus when I finished mowing last week. The bearings are totally shot. I have no idea what kind of mower it is.

Has anyone been in this position before? Do I take the wheel assembly in to a tractor dealer and see if they can match up the parts? I don't want to spend a fortune on it....it's not worth it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Brad

My NAPA dealer was able to fix me up with bearings for my off brand brush hog wheel.

Update....I took the wheel to the local JD dealer, and he looked up in his computer trying to find a similar wheel configuration, and didn't find any. He sent me to a FNH dealer, and same thing there.....no luck, but the FNH dealer sent me to a bearing supply house. They were able to remove the race, get the number off of it, and $42.00 later, supplied me with new races and bearings. They fit like a charm!!

Thanks for your input.

Brad

Thanks for the input guys. I took the wheel off last night, and will stop by the local JD dealer (only one close by) and see if they can match up the bearings, etc.

I'll see if there's a TISCO dealer nearby also.

I'll let you know how I come out.

Thanks!!
Brad

i had a old sabre 5' shredder that the wheel fell apart...got a swiveling caster wheel from northern hydraulics for less than 20 bux and welded it onto rear of shredder...worked for a long time till shredder finally broke in half.
i think it was a 8'' wheel with pnuematic tire and a greasable bearing.

You can take the wheel asmbley into a parts dealer and they should be able to match it up, pretty well regardless of what kind of mower it is, for the most part the wheels are pretty standard
