Broke hinge on flex-wing mower.

Need some advice.

The back hinge on the right side our JD 1518 mower broke. The middle hinge has been broke but we didn't know it.
What is the best way to do a repair on this? Do we let a welder fabricate new hinges, or deal with J.D.?

I meant to say do we buy replacement hinges from Deere. The mower is an older one. Thanks -

Looking at jdparts.com, it looks like the hinges are pretty basic, just segments of pipe.

It shouldn't be a problem for a weldor to repair yours, or make up a new pipe hinge section, if needed.

Deere part # AW29643 is the pipe for 1/2 of the hinge, and only costs about $20.00, but I don't know if it fits ALL serial numbers. It looks like it fits the center section AND wing on the older units, and POSSIBLY, only the wings on later models.
